There's no such thing as too much safety. True to this motto, the Axor offers a well thought-out safety concept for vehicle and driver. The Axor's driver's cab meets the most recent safety standards, having passed all customary crash tests with flying colours. Airbags are optionally available. The powerful clear-lens headlamps, available as an option with xenon lamps, and heated exterior mirrors as well as the front heated front mirror ensure excellent visibility even in the worst of weathers. The mirror housings carefully direct the airflow to keep the side windows clean. The large non-slip steps and wide-opening doors ensure safe entry and exit to and from, the cab.
Lying at the heart of the Axor safety concept is an extremely powerful brake system. The Telligent® brake system – available as an option for the Axor – uses every possibility to make the braking distance even shorter: the braking command is transmitted electronically rather than mechanically, thus considerably reducing the braking time and saving vital milliseconds. The integral Brake Assist recognises a critical situation immediately from the speed with which the brake pedal is depressed.
